Background

Never before in history, has education become so important and the pace of change, reforms and transformation in education been so fast. Practitioners and stake holders thus have a tough time to keep pace with all the information and especially to be able to distinguish the significant from the ordinary. The annual update event has been designed to respond to this need.

For the year 2010, this event is preceded by a one day workshop on social media and Learning. Educating the Facebook Generation is the new challenge for parents, teachers and educators and the emerging Social media comprising a range of tools and technologies has the potential of meeting the current challenges of access, quality, cost and appeal. The new emerging pedagogy supports the constructivist approach encouraging peer and group learning. This program not only updates the participants on this important development, but also gives an opportunity to perform hands on activities in using social media and learning.
